Drawing & Cream Detergent Making at Badung Market

Today, we're going to talk to you about teaching in the local market. Almost every Saturday, The Green Team Indonesia teaches the children who work in the local market. We teach many kind of things, like: reading, writing, Math, English and craft.


To us, this Saturday (29 June 2013) was the best so far. There were only 18 kids that came to study. We had some of our school teachers (Mr. Agung and Mr. Made) with us also to teach the kids how to draw. We taught them how to draw a cute fish and they really did try hard. It turned out amazing!

Mr. Agung was very serious in teaching one little girl. 

Besides that, we taught them to make a cream soap. You can use this cream soap for washing dishes and dirty clothes. It was hard but good thing there were some university people from medical school of Udayana University (thank you, kak Ratih and others) that helped us with the chemical things. It turned out really good! We were really happy to see all of them being happy. That's what we're looking for from them: happiness. Because it will be much easier to learn something with a happy heart.

Cream Soap Making

Here is the recipe for making cream soap (we're sorry if we don't know some of the names in English):
200 grams of Marlon
25 grams of CMC50 grams of Soda Ash
50 grams of STTP
15 grams of OBA / bleach
15 grams of Caustic Soda
1 liter of water
5 cc of perfume



How to make:

• Bucket #1: Mix caustic soda with water and mix well. Add STTP gradually into the bucket, followed by soda ash and OBA. Stir well until they are all dissolved. 
• Bucket #2: combine Marlon and CMC and mix well.
• Pour bucket #1 into bucket #2 gradually and stir well.
• When the mixture is not that warm, add the perfume. 
• The cream soap is ready to use.
