Recyling Used Cooking Oil with Yayasan Lengis Hijau (part 2 - end)

Dear Greensters,

Patricia here! :)

I am attaching a video about our visit to Yayasan Lengis Hijau, a place in Denpasar - Bali to recycle used cooking oil into biodiesel. In this video, Mr. Tri Hermawan said that you should not throw away the used cooking oil,but it is better you collect and give it to the biodiesel producer like what we did

In Indonesia, there are only 3 cities that have a place to recycle used cooking oil into biodiesel, such as: Jakarta, Surabaya and Denpasar. If it is difficult to find one in your city, please read my previous article for alternative ways to "recycle" your used cooking oil. This is my previous article (just click the following to go directly to the article):  Recycling Used Cooking Oil with Yayasan Lengis Hijau (part 1).

In Indonesia, there are some illegal places to recycle used cooking oil and transform it into another "new" cooking oil. Then they sell it in the local market without a brand name. We call it here as "minyak goreng curah" (bulk cooking oil). This is very dangerous. But, we don't have power to stop this illegal thing. What we can do is to buy only cooking oil with a brand name. Don't buy cooking oil WITHOUT a brand name.

So, let's save our planet by doing small things in your home. Don't repeat the use of cooking oil more than 3 times. Collect the used cooking oil in your home and do something to recycle it.

Let's Love Our Earth!

Thank you.

Best Regards,
