The Green Island: Photo Gallery (part 2)

Dear Greensters,

A memorable moment at The Green Island floating dock of Serangan Island - Bali. Let's check our photo gallery of today taken by our mentor Mr. Dewa Gede Agung Dharmayasa.

Seahorses

We can adopt seahorses there. Adopting seahorses does not mean you take the beautiful creatures home. But, you release them back to the sea to their natural habitat. They should be at leats 8 months old to be released to the sea.

Black-tip reef sharks

Before, fishermen caught and kill these black-tip reef sharks because fishermen think these unique creatures disturb the area of fishing. The actual threat to this kind of sharks are us: humans!

Green sea turtle

Green sea turtle is an endangered species now. Its scientific name is Chelonia Mydas. Although they are turtles, but their heads cannot retract into their bodies like common turtles.

Can you see what's hiding inside the corals?

Corals are the home for most of marine animals, like crabs, small fishes, jellyfish, sponges and many more. Healthy coral reefs means healthy water because they are signs of water quality in that area.

Starfish

Starfish cannot swim. They are spiny skinned sea urchins (echinoderms). Most of them have spiky shells to protect them.

Cheers from us of the Green Team Indonesia
